Without question, my favourite time of the year has always been Christmas. I’m not usually a sentimental person, but I lose all my cynicism over the holiday season and become a walking cliché of novelty jumpers and musical earrings. I love everything that Christmas signifies – family, food and, especially, presents.
Some of my earliest memories are of Christmas Eves spent in my grandparents’ home in Wexford. My father is from a very large family, and they would all return home on Christmas Eve. As the first
(and for quite a while, only) grandchild, Christmas Eve would revolve around me. I loved every second!
